Buhari Delivered As Promised Credible Elections – FG

The Federal Government claims that President Muhammadu Buhari fulfilled his promise to leave a legacy of free, fair, and credible elections by conducting elections in 2023.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, stated this in Washington DC during official engagements with some international media organizations.

The minister, who is in Washington to meet with international media outlets and think tanks about the recently concluded 2023 poll, has already met with the Washington Post, Voice of America, Associated Press, and Foreign Policy Magazine.

Mohammed stated that he would not vote in order to fulfill the President’s pledge to restore sanity to the electoral process.

During the election, any political party, including the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), will have a special advantage.

According to him, during previous elections, Buhari ensured that no one used security agencies to rig the election in his favor, instead creating a level playing field for the elections to take place.

“As evidence of this resolution, the President’s party lost the presidential election in his home state of Katsina.”

“Equally, the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, lost in his home state of Lagos, while the party’s chairman, Abdulahi Adamu, lost to the Labour Party in Nasarawa.”

“The Director-General of our Party’s Campaign Organization also lost to the PDP in Plateau state.”

“Nothing gives this election more credibility than the fact that there was no rigging.”

in states where our bigwigs are from,” Mohammed explained.

He went on to say that the APC lost in the four states with the most votes in the elections – Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, and Lagos – despite the fact that they were all controlled by the ruling party.

The Information Minister stated that the allegations of fraud made by the opposition and skeptics did not add up, and that the controversy was caused by the inability of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to upload the presidential election results in real time.

According to Naijloaded, the electoral body was chastised for failing to upload results immediately on the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal during the presidential and National Assembly elections.

However, Mohammed maintained that the conclusion reached by

The opposition and skeptics were motivated by a lack of understanding of IReV’s role and functions.

He emphasized that the portal is a platform for uploading polling-place election results, not a tool for election collation or electronic transmission of results.

“Under our current laws, election results are managed manually, and the court has ruled that INEC has the sole authority to determine the mode of election, collation, and transmission.”

“On the 25th of February, INEC noticed that the results of the Presidential elections were not being viewed.”

“Because INEC suspected a cyber attack, the results were not uploaded in order to protect the data’s integrity.”

“It immediately floated an alternative platform.”

while requesting that its technicians look into what happened to its original portal.”

“It is unfortunate that the opposition is relying on this to claim that the elections were rigged.”

“So far, no political party has stated that what is on Form EC8A differs from what was uploaded on IReV,” he said.
