In response to the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to nullify Abba Kabir Yusuf’s election as Governor of Kano State, the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP) in Benue State has voiced its displeasure.
Party Chairman for Benue State, Group Captain Stephen Adah (Rtd), made the announcement while speaking to reporters in Makurdi.
Adah noted that as an organization dedicated to advancing fair and reasonable judicial systems, the party is troubled by the verdict’s apparent failure to uphold these ideals.
The NNPP government in Kano, he said, “has put smiles on the faces of the oppressed in Kano; therefore, we call on the relevant authorities to launch an immediate review of the judgement to prevent a looming dispensation of unequally metered justice in the country.”
To put it bluntly, “the pillars of our nation’s democracy are at stake and should not be treated lightly.”
He continued by saying that the NNPP will file an appeal over the judicial theft committed against the good people of Kano, and that in the end, truth and light would triumph over lies and darkness.
