Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism for Benue State, Matthew Abo, has been kidnapped by unknown assailants.
According to information obtained by sarewahausa, the armed men stormed the Commissioner’s home in Zaki-Biam, the capital of the Ukum Local Government Area of the state, at around 10 p.m. on Sunday.
An eyewitness saw four motorcycle-riding assailants storm the neighborhood and open fire on the commissioner’s home.
After ordering the Commissioner’s family to lie face down, the intruders quickly removed him from the home and drove off to an unknown location.
The regrettable occurrence was verified to sarewa hausa on Monday by Governor Hyacinth Alia’s chief press secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula.
When our reporter phoned the CPS, all they responded was, “Unfortunately, that is the news.” Ukum LGA’s Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism Matthew Abo has been abducted.
According to the sarewa hausa, on August 29, 2023, Abo was sworn in as one of the seventeen Commissioners to the Benue State Executive Council.
