Olubankole Wellington, a.k.a. Banky W, a famous Nigerian artist and a candidate for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency of Lagos State for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has responded to the Election Petition Tribunal’s decision.
at case you forgot, on Monday, Thaddeus Atta, the Labour Party candidate for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, had his election as the validly elected representative for the constituency overturned by the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, which was sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
In 33 polling units where elections did not take place within 90 days, the court declared the election inconclusive and ordered a supplemental election to be held by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Banky W hailed the finding of the Tribunal and called it a miracle in his Wednesday interview on Channels Tv’s Politics Today.
That we get another chance to conclude the election is a miracle in and of itself, in my opinion.
Those who wish to help rebuild this democracy are showing “a testament to the power of perseverance, the power of faith, and the collective will of the people,” he said.
