Andre Onana, a goalkeeper for Inter Milan, is close to signing with Manchester United for around £50 million.
The 27-year-old Cameroonian will take over for David de Gea, who retired from the club this month after 12 seasons as their starting goalkeeper.
It is believed that a five-year contract, with a sixth year as an option, was agreed upon after United and Onana’s representatives met again on Sunday.
The clubs are still in the midst of negotiations.
It is now likely that Onana will finish the transfer in time to join United on their upcoming tour of the United States.
