Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has allowed area councils in the nation’s capital permission to dismantle unfinished structures.
Wike announced the authorization during a town hall meeting with stakeholders at the Gwagwalada district council on Friday.
He said the destruction would assist remove unfinished structures that criminals use as safe havens and hideouts.
“By Monday (January 22, 2024), the chairman should bring the document for me to approve the demolition of unfinished structures where criminals are hibernating. Do not behave like civil servants. Today is Friday. Please provide the letter on Monday, and I would gladly approve it,” Wike stated.
According to the SAREWAHAUSA, Wike stated that some kidnappers’ informants had been caught in the FCT as security concerns rise.
Remember that tensions erupted in an Abuja community when kidnappers killed three of the ten abducted victims due to a delay in paying a ransom of more than N700 million.
