In court papers, @PeterObi, Nigeria’s Labour Party candidate in the February 25 presidential election, claims that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, now President-elect, is ineligible to run because he was fined $460,000 for “narcotics trafficking” in 1993 by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
The court ruled that “funds in the amount of $460,000 in an account in the name of Bola Tinubu represent narcotics proceeds or were involved in financial transactions in violation of 18 U.S.C ss 1956 and 1957, and thus these funds are forfeited to the United States.”
