In a leaked audio with Bishop Oyedepo, Peter Gregory Obi, a significant candidate for the presidency in 2023, hoped to enlist Christian leaders in support of his campaign.
Mr. Obi, who stood for the Labour Party, saw the election on February 25, 2023 as a chance to promote the acceptance of Christians in Nigeria by capitalizing on the division brought on by Bola Tinubu’s Muslim-Muslim nomination.
The day before the election, Peter Obi requested in a leaked audio message that Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel) relay his message to Christians throughout the South-West as well as those in states like Kwara, Kogi, and Niger in order to strengthen his appeal.
