Re-elected governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has urged those who ran alongside him in the 2023 governorship election to back his administration in the state.
Remember that Makinde was re-elected governor last week after winning the March 18 governorship election.
Makinde ran on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform and defeated his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Teslim Folarin.
Makinde received 563,756 votes to defeat Folarin, who received 256,685 votes, and Accord party candidate, Adebayo Adelabu, who received 38,357 votes to finish third in the election held in all 33 local government areas of Oyo State.

On Saturday’s program, the governor stated that he needed Folarin, Adelabu, and others to work with him to take the state to new heights.
According to Makinde, his election victory is a victory for the people and the state, and he is open to working with the ideas of his co-contestants wherever they are superior to his.
“The electioneering campaign is now over, and we must deal with the issue of governance.”
“This is our state and commonwealth, and we must ensure that we move it forward.”
“I’d also like to thank the political parties that dismantled their structures to support me,” he added.
