Alleged Fraud Leads Tinubu to Suspend Ahmad, Three Directors, and the Rural Electrification Agency CEO

The following individuals have been placed on administrative leave: (1) Olaniyi Alaba Netufo, who is the executive director of corporate services; (2) Ajuri Ngelale, a spokesperson for the president, (3) Sa’adatu Balgore—Executive Director, Rural Electrification Fund (REF)—and (2) Barka Sajou—Executive Director, Technical Services….

Three executive directors and the managing director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, have been removed from office indefinitely by President Bola Tinubu.

The following individuals have been placed on administrative leave: (1) Olaniyi Alaba Netufo, who is the executive director of corporate services; (2) Ajuri Ngelale, a spokesperson for the president, (3) Sa’adatu Balgore—Executive Director, Rural Electrification Fund (REF)—and (2) Barka Sajou—Executive Director, Technical Services….

President Bola Tinubu has approved the indefinite suspension of Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, the Managing Director/CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), and three other executive directors from office, according to the presidential statement. The new findings were discovered during a comprehensive investigation into the agency’s financial activities. (1) Olaniyi Alaba Netufo is the executive director of corporate services. (2) Barka Sajou—Head of the Technical Services Department (3) The Rural Electrification Fund (REF) is headed by Sa’adatu Balgore.

In addition, anti-graft authorities have recovered part of the N1.2 billion in fraudulent misexpenditure that occurred during the previous two years, and President Tinubu has directed a further inquiry into the actions of the aforementioned officials.

The following competent Nigerians have been appointed, with immediate effect, to the new management team of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) per the President’s directive: (1) Managing Director/CEO Abba Abubakar Aliyu (2) Executive Director, Corporate Services Ayoade Gboyega (3) Technical Services Executive Director Umar Abdullahi Umar four, Doris Uboh, head of the Rural Electrification Fund (REF) Fifthly, Olufemi Akinyelure, who is in charge of the Nigeria Electrification Project’s project management unit.
