Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), claims some informants working for kidnappers in the nation’s capital have been arrested.
Wike made the announcement during a town hall meeting with stakeholders and citizens in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT on Friday.
According to him, the end has come for kidnappers, bandits, and informants in the FCT.
“The President has instructed me to assure you that he will not leave you. So, all these criminals, get ready. Your time is up. I will follow through on my promises. And now that I’m here, if you know you’re an informant or even a criminal, the time has come for you. Security agencies and I will follow up to ensure that you do not return to Gwagwalada.
“We apprehended some of the persons who were giving them information. If they haven’t arrested you, it doesn’t mean we won’t do so tomorrow or even before we leave this area.”
The development comes amid an increase in kidnapping and instability in the FCT.
According to SAREWAHAUSA, tensions erupted in an Abuja community after kidnappers killed three of the ten abducted victims due to a delay in paying a ransom of more than N700 million.
Naheeba Al-Kadriyar, a 400-level biological science student at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, was also kidnapped and assassinated in Abuja lately.
Meanwhile, the police had committed to step up their efforts to handle the problem.
