Kano Sanusi may be reinstalled as the NNPP government revisits the Emirates saga

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former governor of Kano State and head of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has stated that the question of Kano emirates will be reconsidered.

Former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje divided the Kano emirate into five and deposed the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi.

Following the New Nigerian Peoples Party’s (NNPP) victory in last year’s election, Kwankwaso stated that Abba Kabir Yusuf’s government would investigate Sanusi’s dethronement and the emirate’s balkanisation.

Kwankwaso reiterated in a talk with journalists in Kano on Friday that the question of Kano emirates will undoubtedly be addressed.

“To be honest, that is one of the issues that no one has discussed with me so far, but I am certain that we will sit down and figure out how to proceed. Is it going to be allowed, demolished, repaired, or whatever? It will be revisited, and what has to be done will be completed.

“There was a lot of stuff, and this was a trap. All of these actions were not done with good faith or intention. It was presented with evil intentions, as all of you here and our listeners are aware.

“Sometimes you bring something excellent and it turns out to be awful, and other times you bring something horrible and it turns out to be good. So far, all I know is that I have not been consulted, but we will absolutely meet to discuss and decide what should be done.

It has been observed that after the Supreme Court certified Governor Abba Yusuf’s election, there has been an increase in requests for Sanusi’s return.
