General Salami Ajege, the new head of the Department of State Security (DSS), and Brigadier General O.O. Diya, the new commander of 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ohafia, have both arrived in Abia State to succeed their predecessors.
Also, the previous heads of the agencies in Abia State have been replaced. Mr. Usman Ishaq Alfadarai is now the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), and Alphonsus Ndupu is the new Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
The former 14 Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Nsikak Edet, expressed gratitude to Governor Alex Otti for his support of the Army’s efforts to combat instability in the state, on behalf of the other departing heads of department.
When it came to combating insecurity, Gen. Edet lauded the Nigerian Army’s cooperation with other security services.
While bidding farewell to the departing security chiefs, Abia State Governor Alex Otti thanked them for their committed service and wished them well in their future duties. Otti credited the outgoing officers with the victories in addressing criminal activities in Lokpanta, Leru, and Umuchieze.
Furthermore, he urged the newly appointed security chiefs to surpass their predecessors by bolstering security across the entire state, and he pledged to assist them in reaching their full potential.
