The junta in the Niger Republic had no intention of shooting down Tinubu’s plane, according to the Nigerian embassy

Reports of a conspiracy by Niger Republic’s military junta to block President Bola Tinubu’s plane from utilizing the country’s airspace have been disputed by the Nigerian Embassy in that country.

This was revealed by Bashir Ahmad, a former advisor to former President Muhammadu Buhari.

By way of Twitter, Ahmad stated, “The Embassy of Nigeria in Niger Republic has denied the fake reports that the military junta prohibited President Bola Tinubu’s jet from flying in its airspace.”

The presidential jet carrying Tinubu was reportedly rerouted by the military junta so that it would exit Niger Republic airspace.

There were rumors that the presidential jet carrying Tinubu was in danger of being shot down over the country.

The junta’s move likely had something to do with Tinubu and the opposition to the recent coup by ECOWAS, the Economic Community of West African States.

The military staged a coup to remove President Bazoum for mishandling the country’s finances.
