A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, Wuse 2, has set October 17 as the date for a decision on the suit brought by Peter Nwachukwu, the late gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu’s, spouse.
Osinachi died on April 8, 2022, as a result of her husband’s claimed abuse and domestic violence.
Following widespread public outrage, the Nigeria Police Force apprehended Nwachukwu and turned over his case file to the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation for prosecution.

Nwachukwu pleaded not guilty to the 23-count charge of domestic violence and homicide when he was arraigned before Justice Njideka K. Nwosu-Iheme.
He was afterwards remanded to the Kuje Correctional Facility.
According to the police report, there was no sign of assault on the deceased, and the causes of her death were “generalized organ pallor, bilateral leg swelling, fluid in the sac containing the heart.” Tumors in and on the heart, lungs, and kidneys. “A massively enlarged heart and fluid around the lungs that makes breathing difficult.”
To that end, A. Aliyu, Nwachukwu’s lawyer, has filed a no case submission.
Aliyu informed the court that the prosecution’s evidence of medical practitioners entirely exonerated Nwachukwu of culpable homicide.
During the resumed hearing on Tuesday, Justice Nwosu-Iheme set October 17 as the date for ruling on Nwachukwu’s no case submission application.
