The government of Yobe is hoping to work more closely with TETFund

The government of Yobe state has issued a plea for continued cooperation with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

Damaturu’s Governor Mai Mala Buni made the request on Thursday when TETFund representatives paid a visit to his office.

Baba Malam Wali, the state secretary, spoke on the governor’s behalf.

The Governor has praised TETFund for helping state-owned universities by providing infrastructure and staff training, according to a statement released by SSG Press Secretary Shuaibu Abdullahi.

Buni said that the Fund’s intervention programs had been of great help in raising education standards across the State.

His comments included, “the complementary role of TETFund in that direction, is commendable,” and “the State Government has been doing its best to provide the necessary facilities and grant scholarships.”

Buni urged continuing efforts to work together to improve the State’s educational system.

Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Gamawa, who is in charge of the TETFund team, explained that they were in the state to evaluate the State College of Agriculture, Science, and Technology in Gujba.

He explained that the Fund’s operations were governed by a set of standards that detailed the criteria that must be completed by institutions in order to receive assistance from the TETFund.
