The NLC has warned the FG that a strike is imminent unless they meet their demands

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is disappointed that the Federal Government hasn’t acted on the union’s demands since the fuel subsidy was cut four months ago.

There has been sufficient time for the government to address some of the NLC’s concerns, they say.

As a result of the country’s current economic situation, the Union is preparing to launch an indefinite strike.

The requests include fixing the country’s refineries, paying professors’ salary arrears, and reevaluating the minimum wage.

The deadline is this coming Sunday.

A second meeting between the Union and the Federal Government on Monday resulted in the same impasse.

Joe Ajaero, president of the NLC, expressed the union’s anger in an interview with Channels Television on Monday.

We both agree that the Federal Government has had enough of time during the past four months and that, barring any last-minute surprises, all outstanding concerns can be settled in the next four days.

“And we hope that the minister [Simon Lalong] will work with us within these next few days to make sure that we resolve the problem,” he said.
