Williams, the first certified accountant in Nigeria, has been termed as the end of an era by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Nigeria’s first native certified accountant, Akintola Williams, was reported dead on Monday at his home in Lagos, where he had lived for the past ten years. Williams was 104 years old.
In response, Governor Abiodun issued a statement that he personally signed praising the late accountant’s services to the profession.
Future generations of accountants will honor his legacy by remembering and honoring his contributions.
Abiodun hoped that his prayers for his soul’s rest and the strength of his loved ones would help them through this time of profound sorrow.
While we will all miss his invaluable work in the area of accounting over the past seven decades, we can take comfort in the profound legacies he has left and the permanent imprints he has left behind.
He prayed that God would bless his family, his many students, and his many fans throughout the world.
