Tunji-Ojo, Tinubu’s minister, has pledged to end passport delays within two weeks

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the minister of the interior, has pledged to end passport delays within two weeks.

He claims that passport processing times in Nigeria have no reasonable explanation.

On Tuesday’s episode of Politics Today on Channels Television, we learned that Tunji-Ojo is in talks with service providers and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to digitize and decentralize the passport issue and renewal processes.

It shouldn’t take more than two weeks, he claimed, to clear out all the backlogs.

No Nigerian should have to wait more than two weeks after these backlogs are cleared.

According to Tunji-Ojo, obtaining a green passport is a basic entitlement for all citizens of Nigeria.

His exact words were, “It’s a right and not a privilege, Nigerians want that right to be actually theirs, not by somebody offering you your right.”
