Atiku, Peter Obi, and Tinubu, the police warn, before Wednesday’s verdict: “Watch your utterance.”

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has cautioned troublemakers against spreading false information using careless words.

Prior to the Presidential Election Tribunal’s ruling on the February 14 vote, NPF issued the warning.

This was announced in a statement released by NPF spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi on Tuesday.

Adejobi also mentioned the nationwide deployment of police in Nigeria in preparation for the verdict on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the Nigeria Police Force has increased its deployment throughout the country in an effort to “fortify security architecture and forestall any breakdown of law and order across the country as a result of the forthcoming Presidential Election Petition Tribunal Judgment scheduled to be passed on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.”

“The NPF strongly cautions all individuals, including mischief makers and political gladiators, to be cautious in their actions and statements as the Force will not condone activities capable of inciting violence or causing a descent into anarchy,” reads a statement from the NPF.

To quote one author: “It is imperative for all citizens to embrace peace and maintain calm, regardless of their political affiliations, in order to ensure a peaceful and secure environment.”

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi, presidential candidate for the Labour Party, have both filed petitions with the tribunal challenging President Bola Tinubu’s election, according to the SAREWAHAUSA.
