Agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Uyo Zonal Command rounded up 17 people they said committed fraud via the internet in various locations across Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Following many intelligence reports that connected the suspects to various forms of cybercrime, they were apprehended in a sting operation.
In a tweet, the Commission stated its certainty of the arrest.
Mobile phones, a television, a red Toyota Camry LE, a black Honda, and two Lexus automobiles were all seized from the fugitives.
As soon as the investigations are complete, “the suspects will be charged to Court,” it continued.
