HOW ABOUT YOU? Governor Soludo: “Nigeria is a poor country”

Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra State, recently informed his countrymen of Nigeria’s dire economic situation.
After praising President Bola Tinubu for ending the country’s fuel subsidy, this was his response.
On Tuesday, during the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Anambra State branch’s 9th (7th Quadrennial) Delegates Conference, Soludo defended the elimination of subsidies.
Soludo claimed that the country’s economy may be restructured as a result of the dismissal.
He proclaimed, “It is time for the country to realize it is a poor country and start living within its means.
Those in positions of authority in Nigeria needed to set an example for the populace by showing that they, too, were struggling to make ends meet.
No one was immune to the effects of the subsidy cutoff; not even government workers were spared. The current administration’s strategy to mitigate the impact was comprehensive, covering both the short and long term.
Soludo pledged that his administration will hire more educators so that all citizens could benefit from a free and high-quality public education.
