Kills Wife After Businessman Slams Her Head Against a Wall

The death of 30-year-old Rafiat Okewole has left her family in mourning. Her death was reportedly caused by her husband, Wole.

Despite her marriage to the businessman, Okewole reportedly maintained a separate residence on Odelusi Street in the Ijoko neighborhood of Ota, Ogun State.

On Sunday, she reportedly went to the Gas Line neighborhood of Ijoko to ask her husband for child support money, but a fight broke out between them.

The deceased woman reportedly had an ongoing dispute with her husband about his alleged neglect of their children.

However, things came to a head during Okewole’s Sunday visit, when Wole allegedly smashed her head against the wall.

After the incident, neighbors reportedly tried to save Okewole’s life by taking her to the hospital, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

One of the deceased woman’s siblings reported the incident to authorities, and the woman’s 41-year-old husband was subsequently detained.

Akinola Shittu, one of the deceased’s brothers, expressed his sorrow to reporters upon hearing the news of his sister’s passing.

He revealed, “My older brother called me on Sunday night to tell me that Rafiat had passed away. When I inquired further, he explained that Wole had been alleged to have hit her head against a wall in his home while begging for financial support for their children.

This occurred on Sunday at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Wole’s Gas Line, Ijoko home.

My immediate reaction was to rush to the house, where I found neighbors gathered and my sister being brought to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. In a word, I’m heartbroken.

My brother who lives nearby told the police, which led to Wole’s detention, as I found out later.
Basirat Liasu, the deceased’s sister, said to our correspondent that she and Okewole’s daughter had witnessed the occurrence in Wole’s home.
