After Sunday’s Community Shield loss, Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne praised three new Arsenal signings.
After the Wembley match, De Bruyne singled out three players: Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber.
Mikel Arteta, the Gunners’ manager, started all three players in the shootout victory over City.
Over 100 minutes and a tie later, the game was decided by penalty kicks.
Fabio Vieira scored the game-winning goal for Arsenal after City’s De Bruyne and Rodri both squandered opportunities.
De Bruyne addressed the recent personnel changes made by their Premier League title opponents after the game.
“I think they are good players,” De Bruyne said of Rice, Havertz, and Timber.
They have assessed their requirements and procured the appropriate supplies.
I believe all three got first-team playing time, which makes them significant additions to the team. We all know that teams in this league are always spending money since everyone is focused on their own squad and everyone has so much of it. Each year presents new challenges. We’re doing what we can to keep things the same.
