Before their August 14 Premier League opener against Wolves, Manchester United will make a decision on Mason Greenwood’s future with the club.
Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer analyst, says that manager Erik ten Hag would have no say in the matter.
Monday, Romano tweeted:
Mason Greenwood’s status for Manchester United’s season opener in the Premier League will likely be resolved on August 14.
Only the club may decide. After the club, Erik ten Hag will talk about the future of Greenwood, but he won’t be responsible for any of the outcomes.
Since Greenwood was arrested and charged with rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault in January 2022, he has not played for the Red Devils.
Even though the charges were dropped in February, United is still conducting an internal inquiry and has not reinstated the 21-year-old.
