David Silva, a former playmaker for Manchester City, has decided to end his career.
The 37-year-old Spanish superstar had an outstanding decade with City, during which he won four Premier League titles, before signing with Real Sociedad.
After 19 years in the league, Silva has decided to retire after suffering a major knee injury in preseason.
“Today is a sad day for me,” Silva wrote on Twitter.
“Today I must leave behind the work to which I have devoted my entire adult life. My coworkers have become like family to me, and now it is time to say goodbye. I’m going to miss you terribly.
