A post-no-debit restriction on the accounts of 440 individuals and businesses has been lifted at the direction of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Accounts that have been set to post-no-debit status can no longer make withdrawals (by ATM or check), but can still receive deposits.
The CBN director of banking supervision, A.M. Barau, issued the circular on Tuesday, instructing banks to inform affected consumers.
The leading financial institution gave no explanation for its decision.
Companies like Bamboo Systems Technology Limited, Escale Oil & Gas Limited, Rise Vest Technologies Limited, Chaka Technologies Limited, abokiFX Limited, Nairabet International, Northwood Energy Services, and Proport Marine Limited are just some of the names you’ll find on this list.
It said in the circular,
We request that the Post-No-Debit hold that has been put on the bank accounts of the individuals and businesses named below be lifted.
Similarly, “you are also required to inform the concerned customers of the vacation accordingly.”
