Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo is furious with Paris Saint-Germain for considering selling Mbappe, and she wants him to stay in France

PSG’s acceptance of Al-Hilal’s record transfer offer of £259 million for Kylian Mbappe has irked Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.

The Saudi club is aiming to take advantage of the situation after Mbappe announced his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in the summer of 2019.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of PSG, has steadfastly denied the 24-year-old a free transfer.

Now that the prospect of losing the country’s most valuable football asset to the Gulf state has been brought to Hidalgo’s attention, she has expressed her disapproval.

The 2014-elected mayor spoke on BFM TV on Tuesday morning, July 25, to cast doubt on PSG’s strategy.

“They have the best player in the world and they are willing not to play with him,” she remarked. “I’ll be honest, I don’t get any of this. You can’t let it leak out of Paris.

According to reports, Mbappe will be paid £173.2m year by Al-Hilal, and the club’s offer includes a release clause that would allow him to make the transfer to Real Madrid.

Despite the staggering offer, Relevo claims that Mbappe has no desire of playing in Saudi Arabia.

Reports out of Madrid state that the forward has no intention of leaving the reigning French champions before the end of his contract and is even “willing to sit on the bench all season” to do so.
