When Tinubu became office, he unleashed “revised shege” on the people of Nigeria

Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate for 2023, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration came to office with the intention of unleashing social and economic terror on Nigerians.

Sowore, who bemoaned the state of affairs in the country on Twitter, lamented that the high cost of fuel had left the roads deserted.

The rights crusader went on to lament the 500% increase in tuition fees at some schools, the 100% increase in energy rates, and the skyrocketing cost of food, making it unaffordable for many in Nigeria.

The roads are hungry and empty on this Monday morning. Some institutions are raising tuition by 500 percent, power rates are soaring, gas prices have quadrupled, and many people can no longer afford to eat.

Nigerians will soon have their revenge on the @officialABAT dictatorship for the social and economic horror it has unleashed on the country. Don’t stress out; get organized. What they actually promised was Shege, not magic. It’s #Renewedshege #Revolutionnow,” he tweeted.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Civil Society Groups descended in large numbers on the streets of Benin City, Edo State, to demonstrate against the recent rise in the price of gasoline and the countrywide economic hardship it has caused.

Members of the Edo Civil Society Organisations expressed their dismay at the politicians’ wasteful spending on governance at the expense of Nigeria’s poor.

The organisations claim that before removing fuel subsidies, the federal government should have provided palliatives to ease the impact.

In Edo, demonstrators took to the streets with signs reading “FG Fix Our Refineries,” “Kill Corruption, not Nigerians,” “Poor Nigerians Lives Matter,” “We Say No To Constant Increment In PMS,” “How Did NNPCL Become Fuel Price Requlator,” “N8,000 Palliatives,” and “What An Insult,” among others.

Information The rising cost of gasoline has reportedly had a negative impact on the prices of other goods and services in Nigeria, such as food and transportation.
