Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba Nation activist, has reportedly lost his mother.
Olayomi Koiki, Igboho’s spokesperson, made the announcement on Saturday via a tweet.
“I can confirm today, Saturday the 22nd of July 2023, that Dr. Chief Sunday Adeyemo’s (aka Sunday Igboho) mother died,” he tweeted.
Remember how Igboho sparked uproar when he announced the Yoruba Nation’s sovereignty in March 2021?
He launched a campaign to drive killer herdsmen and kidnappers out of the South-West states before appealing to Yoruba living in Hausa/Fulani or Igbo territory to return home.
He escaped Nigeria, however, in July 2021, following a midnight invasion on his Ibadan apartment by Department of State Services operatives.
Yomi Aliyu, his lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, has stated that his return to the country is on track.
Aliyu stated that he believed Igboho would have no problems returning to Nigeria as long as he did not resume his campaign for Yoruba independence from Nigeria.
