Nkeruewen Etuk, 54, is a murder suspect who claims he b£at his girlfriend, Esther Ndereke, to death a few days ago after she burned the rice she was making and nearly set fire to their flat.
After a fight in the deceased’s apartment on Abasi Obori street in the Calabar South Local Government area on Tuesday, July 18, the suspect was apprehended.
Etuk, who was taken to the media and maintained he never intended to kill Ms. Ndereke, denied the allegations.
A major source of tension between us arose from my growing indignation at her ineptitude in the rice-cooking department.
While she was cooking, she nearly set the home on fire. She almost set the home on fire because she forgot to add water before turning on the gas.
The argument started when I asked her to explain her behavior, and I ended the fight by beating her. I didn’t set out to kill her. In our two years together, I have never had a major disagreement with her. She tragically passed away after collapsing during our fight, which unfortunately intensified.
My intention was never to murder her. He explained, “I was just mad because she was careless and almost set someone’s house on fire.”
