Brighton provide an update on Caicedo’s arrival at Chelsea

Tony Bloom, the owner of Brighton, has made a condition for Moises Caicedo to join Chelsea.

Roberto De Zerbi, the manager, claimed that he has been promised that the 21-year-old midfielder will stay at the club this summer until Chelsea match their valuation.

Following the departures of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek this summer, new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bringing Caicedo in.

Chelsea’s first and second bids of £60 million and £70 million were rejected by the Seagulls, who are demanding £100 million for the midfielder.

Chelsea intend to grind Brighton down, but De Zerbi has been reassured that he will be back in his team next season as things stand.

“I spoke with Tony Bloom [the club’s owner], and he told me that if the condition doesn’t change, Moises stays with us,” De Zerbi stated during a press conference on Friday.

“It should be great news for me because finding another great player is difficult.” If Moises leaves, we’ll need to find another player of his caliber.

“At the moment, I have not received word that Caicedo will be able to leave tomorrow or within the next week.” “I’m sure I’ll start next season with Caicedo in the first XI.”
