Barcelona’s new acquisition Ilkay Gundogan has named his football idols.
Gundogan, who recently left Manchester City for Barcelona, has identified Ronaldinho, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, and Sergio Busquets as his football inspirations.
After his contract with Pep Guardiola’s side expired this summer, the Germany international joined the Catalan club as a free agent.
When asked to list his football idols, Gundogan said through (h/t Barca Times),
“Who are my idols?” Ronaldinho…despite the fact that he is completely different from me.
“Also, Xavi, Iniesta, and Busquets,” he said.
Gundogan was an important player for Manchester City in the 2022-2023 season.
Last season, he won the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League with Manchester City.
