Arsenal have completed the purchase of England midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham for a fee of £100 million plus £5 million in add-ons.
The Gunners’ news comes after the 24-year-old wrote an open letter to Hammers fans on how ‘difficult’ the choice to leave the club had been.
Rice has agreed to terms with Arsenal on a five-year contract with an option for an additional year.
“I’ve been looking at Arsenal over the last couple of seasons and the trajectory they’ve been on,” he explained.
“They [only] finished fifth the previous season, but you could see the style of play Mikel was implementing.”
“Last season was an outstanding season, blowing pretty much every team out of the water, with the exception of Manchester City.”
