President Tinubu will make his first official trip to France for the World Economic Forum.

President Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is scheduled to leave Nigeria on Thursday, June 22.
Tinubu will join world leaders in Paris, France, to study and sign a New Global Financial Pact that prioritizes support and investment for vulnerable countries.

This comes after the disastrous effects of climate change, the energy crisis, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The President will attend the two-day Summit on June 22 and 23, which will look at ways to restore fiscal space to countries facing difficult short-term financial challenges, particularly the most indebted; mobilize innovative financing for climate-vulnerable countries; foster development in low-income countries; and encourage investment in “green” infrastructure for the energy transition in emerging and developing economies.

President Tinubu and other global leaders, multilateral institutions, financial experts, and economists will take a more holistic approach to the recovery of economies from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as rising cases of poverty, with the goal of facilitating access to finance and investment that will leverage inclusive growth.

The Summit will be held at Palais Brongniart, which will be hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.

Members of the President’s Policy Advisory Council and key government officials will accompany him. On Saturday, he will return to Abuja.

Tinubu’s first official travel to France since becoming office will be for the summit.
