The Edo State Government has raised the minimum wage to N40,000.

The Edo State Government has raised the state’s minimum salary from N30,000 to N40,000.
Governor Godwin Obaseki confirmed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Obaseki also ordered a reduction in working days from five to three, as locals grapple with the consequences of the loss of petrol subsidies.
He promised that his administration will stand with employees “in these very difficult times.”
Obaseki also stated that his administration would do all possible to alleviate residents’ suffering.
“As a proactive government, we have since increased the minimum wage paid to workers in Edo state from the approved N30,000 to N40,000, the highest in the country today,” the governor said.
In part, the statement was read.
It went on to say
“Until further notice, the Edo State government is reducing the number of work days that civil and public servants will have to commute to their workplaces from five to three.” Workers will now be able to work from home two days per week.”
