May 29: Abia Governor-Elect, Otti Declares Seven-Day Fasting, Prayer For Spiritual Cleansing The organizing committee for Abia State’s re-dedication and governor-elect Alex Otti’s Thanksgiving Service, has declared a seven-day prayer and fasting ahead of Otti’s swearing-in on May 29.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the committee’s chairman and secretary, Uzor Nwachukwu and Bertrand Okeom
The committee announced a retreat on May 27 at Ngwa High School in Aba.
It went on to say that the spiritual retreat had already received the blessing of the Abia chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
“Similarly, a post-inauguration state thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, June 4, at the Umuahia Township Stadium at noon,” the statement continued.
CAN, on the other hand, has urged all of its member churches in Abia to participate in the prayer and fasting sessions.
The directive was issued by Abia CAN chairman Emmanuel Agomoh, according to Mgbeahuru Okey, CAN’s secretary.
“Let us join hands with other faithful in this critical mission for a new Abia of our collective dream,” said the CAN statement.
