Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has reacted to the arrest of Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti.
Kuti has been handcuffed and taken to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, in Panti for further investigation and possible detention.
Remember that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba, ordered Kuti’s arrest a few days ago following his altercation with a police officer on the 3rd Mainland Bridge.
Kuti was caught on video assaulting a uniformed police officer.
In response to the development, Sani said in a tweet on Monday via his handle that there was no need to handcuff Kuti, who voluntarily surrendered himself.
He wrote on Twitter
“Even though I’ve been handcuffed for many years, there’s no reason to continue handcuffing me.” Seun who has voluntarily surrendered himself.”
