“I Thought About Suicide Several Times During My Depression” Omah Lay’s

Sensational Stanley Omah Didia, better known as Omah Lay, a Nigerian singer, has revealed that he was suicidal during his depression.
In an interview with H Steph, the Port-Harcourt-born artist discussed his battle with depression and how it influenced his music.

Omah Lay stated that it was divine for him to experience depression in order to help those who are currently depressed.

“I was on the verge of…” he explained.Mahn, I was suicidal. Believe me, I was f*cked up.

“But I think I need to be there to help the people who are there right now get out of there.” I mean, it will take a real person like me to go there and then make the necessary changes.

Music came out of it, and I talked about how I’m a mess, how I think, how I’m f*cked up, and everything.

“I’m not sure there are any afrobeats artists doing that right now.” Everyone is saying that afrobeats aren’t that deep, that they’re just vibes and sh*t. Nah. That’s why everyone is just making up stories. “True music is dying.”
