Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, has insisted that Manchester City’s equalizer in their 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday should not have counted.
Ancelotti was displeased with referee Artur Soares Dias for failing to consult VAR after Kevin De Bruyne equalized.
Bernardo Silva, according to the Italian, took the ball over the touchline during the build-up.
Dias issued a yellow card to Ancelotti for entering the field to protest the goal.
Following the game, Ancelotti stated:
“The ball had left the field.” It was stated by technology.
