On Monday, tragedy struck Akure town when an over speeding hit-and-run driver ran over a Junior Secondary School student, killing her on the spot.
According to an eyewitness who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the student was on his way home from school when tragedy struck.
“Friends of the driver, a suspected internet fraudster, rushed him to an unknown destination as his vehicle burst into flames.”
“The government must pay attention to the recklessness of these internet fraudsters,” said an eyewitness.
SP Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, a police spokesperson in Ondo State, confirmed the incident and said the student’s body had been deposited in a mortuary. the morgue at Akure Specialist Hospital
