Former President Goodluck Jonathan has paid tribute to his late boss, former President Umaru Yar’Adua, 13 years after his death.

 

Yar’Adua was described as a “great and selfless leader” by Jonathan, Yar’Adua’s deputy.

On Friday, he shared a tweet from his Twitter account, writing,

“Our nation lost a great and selfless leader, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, on this day thirteen years ago.” He was a man of justice, peace, and accountability.

“We thank God for the gift of his life and the impact he had on our country.”

“President Yar’Adua was a model leader who rose above ethnic and religious prejudices.” And his public life inspired many people in a positive way.

“We remember him today.”

for his life of service, dedication, and dedication to a united and prosperous nation.

“We will remember him for his developmental achievements and dedication to Nigeria’s peace and progress.” – GEJ”

Yar’Adua was sworn in as President in 2007, but died before the end of his first term in 2010, and Jonathan took over as acting President and later became President.
