Hassan Yusuf, 43, was arrested by Ogun State Police Command for allegedly setting fire to the apartment of his ex-lover, Busayo Falola.
To protest his ex-refusal lover’s to reconcile with him, the suspect allegedly burned down the entire building at no. 127, old Schorlar Palace Igan road Ago-Iwoye in the state’s Ijebu-North Local Government Area.
SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, announced this in a statement on Saturday.
Oyeyemi stated that the suspect was apprehended after the 62-year-old landlady of the house, Adejoke Salau, lodged a report at the Ago Iwoye divisional headquarters.
According to the PPRO, the landlady reported hearing a noise from one of the units.

He went on to say more. “She went on to say that it was the quick intervention of neighbors that saved the three tenants, but the house was completely destroyed.”
“Upon receiving the report, the DPO Ago Iwoye, CSP Noah Adekanye, led his men to the scene, where the occupants of the house were invited to the station for questioning in order to determine the possible cause of the inferno.”
“During questioning, one of the tenants, Falola Busayo, told police that she saw her ex-lover Yusuf Hassan at the back of her window at the time.”

Oyeyemi, on the other hand, stated that the suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and possible prosecution by the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba.
