A 70-year-old man has been arrested for raping two minors. Adamawa State

On April 4, Adamawa State Police Command detained a 70-year-old man for allegedly raping two minors, aged four and seven, in Ajiya street Jimeta, Yola North local government area of the state.

Usman Ibrahim, the suspect, was said to have lured the two victims into his room, which was close to the victims, where he took advantage of them and had unlawful carnal knowledge of them.

The Command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, made the announcement in Yola on Saturday.

He stated that the survivors were four and seven-year-old children from Jimeta’s Ajiya Street.

According to the statement, CP Afolabi Babatola, the Commissioner of Police, has ordered a thorough investigation.

Clinical research is being conducted.

“On April 4, the Adamawa state police command apprehended a 70-year-old man for raping two minors in Jimeta, Yola North local government area.”

“The suspect is said to have lured the two victims into his room, which was close to the victims, and took advantage of them while they were on their way to a lesson class, having unlawful carnal knowledge of them.”

“The incident was reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Jimeta by the victims’ father, who observed unusual pains from the children while urinating,” he said.

Nguroje went on to say that preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspect is a father of three who is now living alone after separating from his wife ten years ago.

He went on to say that the CP expressed concern about the unfortunate incident and directed the Officer in Charge of the State CID’s Family Support Unit to take over the investigation and ensure thorough prosecution.

He advised members of the public, particularly parents, to keep a close eye on their children in order to protect them from criminal-minded elements who are out and about looking for people to exploit, and to report any suspicious characters to the police.
