Pasuma announced his mother’s death on Thursday via his verified Instagram page, using both his and his mother’s photos.
“My jewel, I will always miss you!” I’m at a loss for words. “Rest in power and peace, and please keep an eye on me from heaven,” Pasuma wrote.
In his songs, Pasuma frequently refers to himself as Omo Iyawo Anobi (the son of Khadija Kubura or the son of the Prophet’s wife; his mother is the namesake of one of the Prophet’s wives).
