Nigerian music industry heavyweights Davido and Wizkid have both recently released hit songs that have taken the airwaves by storm.
Davido’s latest album, “Timeless,” has received critical acclaim, with the track “Kante” featuring Fave standing out as a standout track. Wizkid’s “Essence” featuring Tems, on the other hand, has been a chart-topper for over three years and remains a fan favorite.
Lyricism: One aspect of music that distinguishes artists is their ability to creatively use words and lyrics. “Kante” outperforms “Essence” in terms of lyrical creativity. While “Essence” is a lovely love song, the depth of the lyrics is mostly felt in Tems’ performance, leaving Wizkid with very few lines to sing. Fave and Davido, on the other hand, shine on “Kante,” with clever wordplay and creative use of language that elevates the song’s overall quality.
