Dr. Owen Abraham, a Gambian pastor, is said to be on the run after stealing 52 cellphones, cash, and other valuables from worshippers at a crusade he organized in Ibadan, Oyo State.
On the final day of the three-day crusade, Abraham claimed that the Holy Spirit directed him to tell people to hand in their phones and valuables, only to abscond with them.
The victims claimed Abraham, who had enticed them into three days of fasting and prayer, was nowhere to be found on the final day of the crusade, with all attempts to reach him futile.

“The pastor approached an Igbo lady in our area to assist him in gathering widows and students, saying he wanted to help us,” said Mrs Akintola, a widow.
Someone in my neighborhood invited me to the crusade. He was dressed in pastor’s robes. He stated that he will purchase a house for one of us that will be fully furnished.
He promised money to some of those who came to the crusade. Even politicians cannot provide the sums he promised. He bought a bottle of water for us at the end of the crusade. rate of N4,800. He said perfume is inside the bottle water. Many people paid for the water.”
