Musa Abdullahi, 24, of the Riga Fada community in Kano State’s Kumbotso LGA, appeared before a magistrate’s court for allegedly setting his girlfriend’s family home on fire after she left him for another suitor.
In addition to being charged with attempted murder and endangering the peace, Abdullahi was also accused of starting a fire at the home of his ex-girlfriend’s parents, which resulted in some of her body being burned.
Barrister Amal Bashir Albany, the prosecutor’s attorney, requested that the charges be read to the defendant in court.
Abdullahi pleaded not guilty to the charges after hearing them, and the judge, Rabi Abdulkadir, ordered that he be remanded in custody. a correctional centre and adjourned the case to June 1.
